On May 17th, Kraton High Performance Polymer Co., Ltd. announced in Guangzhou that it will use its most advanced patented technology to build a 30,000 tonne/year hydrogenated styrene block copolymer (HSBC) device in China. The site is planned for the second half of this year and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2013.
Kraton Polymers is the world's largest manufacturer of styrene block copolymers (SBC) and has 50 years of R&D and production experience. Compared with SBC, its newly developed HSBC has superior performance, wider application and diversification, and an advantage in high-end applications.
According to Lothar Freund, Kraton’s vice president of production technology, HSBC’s annual growth rate in Asia in 2001–2008 was 11%, compared to 19% in 2009–2014.
