Ship engine EIAPP certification test was approved on board

It is understood that in order to reduce air pollution, on May 19, 2005, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the 1973 International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL), as amended by the 1978 Protocol, came into force. The Protocol imposes mandatory regulations on NOx emissions from marine diesel engines. Subsequently, IMO revised the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships in 1973. In 2012, the 63rd Session of the IMO Maritime Environmental Protection Committee adopted an amendment to the Annex to the 1997 Protocol to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as amended by the 1978 Protocol. IMO requires that for marine diesel engines that require an EIAPP certificate but cannot be pre-certified on the test bench due to size, construction and delivery schedules, the initial inspection can be carried out on board and the onboard test must fully meet the 2008 nitrogen. All requirements of the test bench procedures specified in the Oxide Technical Regulations shall be the same as those performed on the test bench prior to the previous certification test, and no measurement deviation shall be allowed.
In addition, IMO also requires that the marine diesel engine equipped with the nitrogen oxide reduction device must obtain the EIAPP certificate, and the technical file must have the nitrogen oxide reduction device component record, and the complete machine or nitrogen oxide reduction device should be in accordance with relevant regulations.
