Zhangjiakou wind power installed capacity ranked first in the country

The reporter learned from the Development and Reform Commission of Zhangjiakou City that as of now, the installed capacity of wind power in the city has reached 2,692,300 kilowatts, making it the most installed city in the country.

Zhangjiakou City has more than 20 million kilowatts of wind energy reserves. The developable area is located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Power Distribution Center. It has a flat terrain and convenient transportation, and has good development value. In recent years, the city has grasped the favorable opportunity for the country to support the development of new energy industries, taking the development of wind power and clean energy as an important direction for industrial restructuring and transformation, and has successively introduced a series of preferential policies and supporting policies in land, capital, and examination and approval, and major projects. City leaders personally took the lead in subcontracting, and once they were caught in the end, they successively introduced large companies and big groups such as Guodian, Huaneng, Guohua, Longyuan, Datang, and China Energy. According to the plan, by the end of 2010, the installed capacity of wind power in the city will reach more than 3 million kilowatts. By 2015, the city's installed wind power capacity will reach 6 million kilowatts. In 2009, the city’s wind power generation capacity reached 1.68 billion kwh, saving 600,000 tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.86 million tons, and reducing sulfur dioxide by 0.94 million tons. Wind power taxes have become one of the important sources of local finance. At present, 72 projects have been completed, constructed, and approved in the city's preliminary work, with a total capacity of 5,410,700 kilowatts. Twenty-four wind farms have been built with an installed capacity of 2,213,050,000 kilowatts. There were 29 unfinished projects with continued construction, new start-up and approval, capacity of 1.5241 million kilowatts, and installed capacity of 553,250 kilowatts. It has approved 19 preparatory work projects with an installed capacity of 1.747 million kilowatts.

While vigorously developing wind power, Zhangjiakou continues to expand and strengthen wind power technology and equipment, and build a complete wind power industry chain. The Zhejiang Yunda fan assembly project which has been put into production now has an annual output value of nearly 2 billion yuan and a tax of more than 100 million yuan. Hebei Anta wind power equipment processing project has been put into mass production, with an annual output of 400 sets of towers, blades, annual output value of 1.16 billion yuan, the realization of taxes 31 million yuan. From the capability of producing towers locally to the ability to produce blades locally, and signing contracts for large-scale wind power equipment manufacturing projects of Zhejiang Yunda and Sanyi Group, the wind power industry chain of the city is interlocking and gradually tends to be integrated.

In order to alleviate the contradiction between power supply and grid construction, the city has invested 1.5 billion yuan under the active support of the State Grid. It has expanded a 500-kilovolt transformer substation and built three new 220-kilovolt transformer substations with a total length of 540 kilometers. At present, a 640-kilometre long 220 kilovolt transmission network has been constructed in Bashang area, and the wind power grid-connected capacity reaches 2,197,550 kilowatts. The pressure on wind power delivery has been greatly eased, and all the wind farms with the conditions for delivery have been connected to the grid for power generation.
