The China-Japan-South Korea-ASEAN Infectious Diseases Information Bulletin website was recently opened in Jakarta, Indonesia. The construction of this website is an important part of the second phase of the cooperation of the China-Japan-South Korea-ASEAN emerging infectious disease project.
In 2007, the Ministry of Health of China submitted a proposal for strengthening the communication of information on infectious diseases in China, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN. It was actively responded to by various countries and approved by the ASEAN Secretariat. In November of the same year, China’s Ministry of Health and the ASEAN Secretariat jointly held a seminar on information communication mechanism for infectious disease epidemics in Beijing, drafted the “China-Japan-South Korea-ASEAN Infectious Diseases Information Exchange and Communication Programâ€, and obtained the Ministry of Health of ASEAN countries. China, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN Senior Officials passed.
According to the project plan, China, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN countries need to exchange information through the website in accordance with the requirements of the World Health Organization's "International Health Regulations." In addition, it is also necessary to report dengue fever episodes once a month, report malaria epidemic information quarterly, and report AIDS, tuberculosis and rabies epidemics once a year. If there are public health emergencies that have international influence, they need to be notified within 48 hours.
