Sichuan Signs 50 Billion Yuan in Automobile Industry, Large New Energy Vehicles Ready to Go


Sichuan Province signed 48 auto industry projects with well-known domestic and foreign companies on the 26th, with a total investment of 50.09 billion yuan. The entire vehicle manufacturing and key parts and components projects of new energy vehicles have become the focus of investment.

The reporter learned from the Sichuan Automotive Industry Development and Investment Fair held here that the 48 contracted projects cover vehicle manufacturing, parts manufacturing, automobile trading, and sales services, including the FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu base vehicle phase IV expansion project, Chongqing Longgang Anyue automobile and motorcycle supporting industrial projects.

This is the largest special investment negotiation event in Sichuan's auto industry in recent years, attracting more than 300 well-known enterprises and business associations. During the two-day talks, inspections, and docking activities, the projects related to new energy vehicles are hot: China High-tech Industry Investment Management Co., Ltd. invests in the construction of a western new energy automobile base in the “National Science and Technology City” Mianyang; China Aviation Technology Guangzhou Co., Ltd. is located in Guang’an Investing in new energy electric vehicle projects; Li Shufu, chairman of Geely Group, also disclosed that Volvo will produce new energy vehicles at its Chengdu base, and will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and the development of new models, and continue to promote the development of new energy vehicles in Sichuan.

Wei Hong, governor of Sichuan Province, said that recently, Sichuan has identified new energy vehicles as one of the five high-end growth industries that are focusing on the development. The goal is to become a base for the manufacturing and application of new energy vehicles in China.
