Salt Lake Potassium Fertilizer "Kneck" Problem Solved

Winter use of low-temperature anti-flotation reagents to increase plant capacity by 2 million tons
The “card neck” problem in the production of potash fertilizer in salt lakes in China has finally been overcome. On the eve of the May 1st, Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Group Co., Ltd. announced that after the production test in March and April of this year, the low-temperature anti-flotation agent suitable for winter production was continuously used on the one-million-ton potassium fertilizer plant and achieved significant results: The production capacity increased by more than 20%, and the average grade of potassium chloride products reached 96%.
China is a big demand country for potash fertilizer, and its self-sufficiency rate is only 10% to 30%. It requires a large amount of imported potassium every year. Based on the rich resources of Chaerhan Salt Lake, Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Group Co., Ltd. independently researched and developed and built a one-million-ton potassium phosphate “anti-flotation-cold crystallization” production device in 2003, which greatly eased the contradiction between supply and demand in the domestic potash fertilizer market. However, under the special natural environment with low average annual temperature, large temperature difference between day and night, and long winter time in the Chaerhan Salt Lake area, the activity of counter-floatation chemicals at room temperature is greatly reduced at low temperatures. The quality of potash products produced in March, April, and the period from the end of October to the end of February to the coming year will fluctuate greatly, the output will decline, and the production cost will increase. The one million tons of potash fertilizer production equipment cannot continuously reach effective production capacity.
In order to completely solve this "knot" problem in the field of potash fertilizer production, the Science and Technology Department of Qinghai Province reversed the flotation of sodium quaternary minerals for the development of sodium chlorate QHS-3 pharmaceuticals as a key scientific and technological project in Qinghai Province in 2006. An open tender was held and the company was awarded the title of Qinghai Province Chemical Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Qinghai Salt Lake Development Co., Ltd. and Qinghai Salt Lake Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd. in one fell swoop. After nearly two years of joint efforts, the low-temperature anti-flotation reagents suitable for winter production have finally been “fruitful” in the hands of scientists and technicians in Qinghai Province. At the beginning of this year, at an ambient temperature of -10°C to -4°C and without changing any working conditions, the pharmaceutical agent has achieved remarkable results in continuous use on a one-million-ton potash fertilizer production plant. The daily production is maintained at about 4500 tons, and chlorination Potassium products have an average grade above 96%.
According to relevant experts, the successful application of low-temperature anti-flotation reagents has not only enabled the overall technical level of potash fertilizer production in China to reach the advanced level of potash fertilizer production in Israel and Jordan, but also resulted in millions of tons without increasing equipment and investment. Potassium fertilizer plant production capacity increased by more than 20%, annual economic benefits of 1 billion yuan, with huge economic and social benefits, will effectively promote the development of China's potash fertilizer industry.
