October European original commercial tire sales rose sharply after sales

In October 2010, the sales volume of European original commercial tires increased significantly year-on-year. According to market data from Pirelli and Michelin, sales of original commercial vehicle tires rose by more than 75% year-on-year in October (Pirelli's data is 75%, while Michelin's data is as high as 81.2%).

However, the Pirelli report also showed that sales of commercial tires in the European aftermarket decreased by 3% year-on-year, while the Michelin report showed that sales of commercial tires in the aftermarket decreased by 1.5% year-on-year.

Compared with the same period in 2009, the sales volume of European original passenger car tires in October was little changed. Sales of Michelin's original passenger car tires fell by 4.5% in October compared to the same period in the previous year, while Pirelli also rose 0.1% year-on-year. Both tire manufacturers stated that sales of passenger tires in the aftermarket in October 2010 had fallen by 2% year-on-year.
