[China Instrument Network Instrument Industry] On April 26th, China Mobile's first NB-IoT (narrow-band Internet of Things) smart meter project was officially put into use in the Yingshihua Ting Community, Yingtan, Jiangxi. The project was jointly launched by China Mobile Jiangxi Corporation and Sanchuan Wisdom. At present, Yingtan has become a national core city for NB-IoT technology R&D and industrial applications. In January of this year, Yingtan City Government, Jiangxi Mobile, and Huawei Technologies signed the "Nantan Narrow Belt Internet of Things (NB-IoT) Pilot City Comprehensive Cooperation Framework Agreement" in Nanchang, proposing to build an NB-IoT service network covering Yingtan's entire territory. A smart entrepreneurial park with NB-IoT characteristics will create a demonstration base for intelligent manufacturing industry with Yingtan characteristics, and establish a group of “four-one†goals for the nation’s leading smart benchmarking application with Yingtan characteristics. In order to promote the landing and development of NB-IoT technology in Yingtan, Jiangxi Mobile cooperated with Sanchuan, a local company well-known in Yingtan, to innovate and launch the NB-IoT smart water meter in January this year, and accelerate the scale installation and application of the project in the city.
The smart water meter can realize the wireless meter reading function, and the user can also view the water consumption and the water quality in the home in real time through the APP. According to the Jiangxi Mobile staff, the previous smart water meter could not work in the basement where the signal was not good, and the NB-IoT smart water meter did not save the problem, and the power consumption was small. A battery can be used for 8 years. Relevant person in charge of the municipal government stated that the cooperation development strategy of Jiangxi Mobile and Sanchuan Wisdom “Intelligent Water Services + Internet Finance + Industrial Investment†will promote the rapid landing of the narrow-band Internet of Things industry in Yingtan, creating the first global application intelligence for Yingtan.
