Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding Base No. 2 shipbuilding line hardware has been basically installed in place recently. All equipment has been commissioned. It was learned from the Jiangnan Shipyard that, although it has not yet started, Line 2 has “a bunch of red apricots out of the wall” and holds 30 shipbuilding orders with a maximum tonnage of 297,000 tons. By 2010, Jiangnan Shipyard will occupy the top spot in the international shipping market.

According to reports, at present, in the international ship market, Japan and South Korea take the top two, taking up nearly 70% of the global share, and Chinese shipbuilding companies usually occupy a 20% international share. Fan Zaifu, a senior engineer with 40 years of shipbuilding service, said that from the perspective of shipbuilding capacity, Jiangnan Shipyard has occupied 90% of the country's shipbuilding tonnage, and its overall scale and unit shipbuilding capacity rank first in the world. Unfortunately, from the software systems such as shipbuilding mode and management capability, Jiangnan Shipyard is still inferior to Japan and South Korea. "The same scale, Japan, South Korea is more than double ours." Isn't that very frustrating? Fan Gong proudly replied that after decades of development, our country's shipbuilding capacity has grown by leaps and bounds. By 2010, Jiangnan Shipyard must strive to be the leading brother in the international shipping market.

It is understood that the Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding Base, which is under full construction, is the largest shipbuilding base in China to date. The No. 3 production line is expected to deliver the first-class civilian ships by the end of this year. The 297,000-ton VLCC of the No. 1 production line was also in May this year. Officially started on the 18th, the first ship of the second production line will be launched on October 18 this year.

As the focus of the overall planning of Changxing Island Marine Equipment Island, Changxing Base will become the world's largest, most advanced and most competitive modern shipbuilding base.
