GP-40 folding filter is a large-scale filtration and dewatering equipment used for filtering copper concentrates in the plant. It was put into production in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The filter area of ​​this equipment is 40m2, which is an external filtration type vacuum filtration equipment. It is mainly composed of a main transmission mechanism, a stirring mechanism, a cylinder body, a tank body, a throat pipe, a main bearing (slide), and a filter cloth adjusting device. The cylinder body and the throat pipe are supported by the main bearings on the channel steel on both sides of the tank body. The function of the stirring mechanism is to agitate the pulp in the filter tank, prevent the deposition of ore particles, and make the pulp concentration uniform, so that the concentration of the upper filter is uniform, the taiwan effect of the filter is ensured, and the moisture of the copper concentrate is effectively controlled.
The stirring mechanism of the filter often malfunctions, and mainly occurs in the stirring main bearing, stirring truss and other parts. This process is controlled by the electric contact pressure gauge to control the pump running time, and the time relay to control the air pressure time, but the air pressure is not a constant value, due to the large size, heavy weight, and large parts of the filter. Therefore, there are many types of work involved in maintenance and the labor intensity of maintenance workers is high, and there are many unsafe factors.
The mixing main bearing is installed on the throats of the two ends of the cylinder, and the throat pipe runs back and forth as a rotary shaft, and the axial positioning between them is only positioned by the spherical surface of the mating surface. Because the length of the filter cloth is slightly longer than the length of the cylinder, the filter cloths at both ends of the cylinder are filled with pulp without slurry after being filled with the slurry. The thin slurry splashed with the filter cloth and splashed on the throat. In order to maintain production, only the new main bearing was replaced, and the trusses and grooves that had been deformed were repaired. The inner hole of the new mixing main bearing is a spherical surface, and the replacement of the new one must not be performed at the same time.

More complex control systems using valves requiring automatic control based on an external input (i.e., regulating flow through a pipe to a changing set point) require an actuator. An actuator will stroke the valve depending on its input and set-up, allowing the valve to be positioned accurately, and allowing control over a variety of requirements.
