Recently, Guangdong COSCO Shipyard Co., Ltd. and Li Xinghang Machinery Co., Ltd. jointly held a contract signing ceremony for the PX121 offshore platform supply vessel project at the Phoenix Hotel in Guangzhou. Mr. Li Mingxi, Party Secretary of Guangdong COSCO Shipyard Co., Ltd., and Cui Wei, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Engine Division of Lixingxing Machinery Co., Ltd., together with representatives of the two companies attended the signing ceremony.
The project has two first ships, the ship owner is Vroon, the Netherlands. The design and delivery design are all under the responsibility of Ulstein Design of Norway. The main design of the hull is 83.4 meters and the main deck area is 850 square meters. It is currently under construction and new orders. Among the same type of electric propulsion offshore platform supply ship, the project with the highest design standards and the most complicated construction technology. Among them, each ship will be equipped with two Caterpillar 3512C/1550ekw@690V and two C32/910ekw@690V electric generator sets and one Caterpillar C4.4/95ekw@440V emergency generator set. COSCO Shipyard executives said that Caterpillar's products were chosen as the power propulsion system for their platform supply vessels.
