The Italian Ministry of the Environment and Land Resources, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China and the Pirelli Group have jointly signed an agreement to reduce the emissions of diesel vehicles on September 16.
The agreement is part of an environmental cooperation project initiated by the two governments since 2000. So far, more than 90 environmental protection cooperation projects have been successfully carried out between the two countries and environmental pollution has been reduced through the promotion and sale of advanced Italian technologies.
The agreement looks forward to the cooperation between the three parties in expanding the sales of filter systems for reduction of diesel vehicle particulate emissions (for equipment upgrades) and the introduction of technologies and advanced products. Pirelli's products have passed relevant tests and completed pilot projects.
With the increasing emphasis placed on environmental protection by organizations around the world, technologies for controlling vehicle pollution have formed one of the most promising markets in China. The Ministry of Environment of Italy and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China jointly pledged to conduct trials in five provinces and cities designated by the Chinese government and adopt new methods to reduce highly polluting vehicles.
