After the New Year, the biggest news in the auto industry is Chang An Yi Shuai, the fourth-largest auto group. Yin Jiaxu, chairman and president of the Group, who has been in charge of Chang An Da Yin for nearly 10 years, left Chongqing to serve as the deputy secretary and deputy general manager of the Party Group of China National Weaponry Equipment Corporation (China Southern Industry Group), and concurrently served as the South China Industry that was just established at the beginning of the year. President of Automotive Co., Ltd.
Xu Liuping, a 42-year-old party member and deputy general manager of China National Weaponry Equipment Corporation, succeeded Yin Jiaxu and served as president and secretary of the Party Committee of Changan Automobile Group. Yin Jiaxu still retains the position of chairman.
A reporter asked Yin Jiaxu, saying that "Changan Automobile enters the era of Yin Jiaxu." What do you think of it? Yin Jiaxu said that to thank our ancestors, China’s language is too rich and flexible. There are post-age, mid-age, and pre-time. I am now the chairman of the Chang'an Group, which is a representative of the investor. It is definitely necessary to understand the company's major direction, major plans, and major events. However, the day-to-day operations are all the responsibility of Xu Liuping.
"Car Weekly" conducted an exclusive interview with the young Marshal.
Q: In the past nearly ten years, Changan Automobile has made tremendous progress under the leadership of Chairman Yin. As you took over as CEO of the Changan Automobile Group, did you feel any pressure or challenge?
A: Since Chairman Yin was the CEO of the Changan Automobile Group in 1996, Changan Automobile has made great progress. In the past few years, I served as the director of the Automotive Division of the Ordnance Equipment Group. I have been under the leadership of Chairman Yin and have been familiar with the automotive industry. However, when I took over as CEO of the Changan Automobile Group, I felt that the responsibility was heavy and the pressure on my shoulders was great. It was also a huge challenge for me.
How to pick up the flag of Changan Automobile and further develop its own brand, on the whole, Chairman Yin laid a good foundation. First of all, there is a strong leadership team. Chang'an's leadership team is a leading group that is pragmatic, efficient, sincere, united, aggressive, challenging, combative, cohesive, centripetal, and affiliated. This collective will not change because of my arrival. At present, Chang’an Group’s decision-making will not change, the division of leadership will not change, and personnel will not change. In addition, Changan has a high-quality, high-level workforce. I am very confident about this
Q: According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2005 Changan Automobile ranked fourth among the top ten auto makers in terms of production and sales, but if it were based on sales, the ranking would be much later. In addition, the profit margin of Changan Automobile in 2005 was only about 2%, far below the average profit level of 4% in the automotive industry. How do you see these two issues?
A: The product structure of Changan Automobile Group is mainly based on micro-vehicles. The unit price of mini-vehicles is much lower than that of large-displacement vehicles. Micro-vehicles are also low-profit industries. This is the main reason why Changan Automobile's total sales and profits are not so high. Another reason is that we invested too much in new products last year, and these inputs have to go into current costs. This is also one of the reasons that affect our profits. However, with the continuous launch of Changan Auto's own-brand cars, this situation will gradually improve.
Q. At the media meeting at the end of last month, you once stated that Changan Automobile will strive to enter the first camp of the Chinese domestic auto industry represented by the “Big Three†this year. How to do this?
A: Chang’an is the largest micro-vehicle manufacturer in China. It now has a rich product line of micro-micros, micro-cargoes, and micro-cards. The micro-vehicle has an annual production capacity of 600,000 vehicles, which has huge scale advantages and cost advantages. Chang'an is also the earliest auto company that has entered the micro-vehicle industry. It has accumulated rich experience in the development, production, and sales of mini-vehicles. However, Changan has lost to SAIC, FAW, and Dongfeng three major groups in the fields such as cars, and the total automobile output is always ranked behind the three major groups. Therefore, Changan is excluded from the first camp.
In November 2005, Chang'an Group ushered in the “3 millionth vehicle off the assembly lineâ€. This is a milestone for the rapid development of the Chang’an Group. It is a manifestation of the group’s overall strength, and it is Chang’an’s insistence on “wealth-based, sedan-basedâ€. Development strategy results. Changan has already turned its sights into the production of cars. In addition to Changan Ford, Changan Suzuki, and Changan-Ford-Mazda joint ventures producing cars, Changan’s self-developed cars will also be available in 2006. From this point of view, Chang'an Industry has completed its layout for the car market, and has concentrated its advantageous resources on technologies, markets, channels, and marketing. This year, the Changan Group will use the self-developed sedan products and the rapid development of joint ventures and cooperative enterprises while maintaining its leading position in the mini vehicle field. With the comprehensive strength and overall advantages of the Chang'an Group, it will achieve the first camp of the domestic automotive industry. aims.
Q: Chang'an has both Sino-foreign equity joint ventures and its own one. How do we handle well the relationship between joint ventures and self-development?
A: Unlike other domestic companies that are advocating self-development, Changan is not only committed to independent development, but also has conducted fruitful joint ventures with multinational car companies such as Ford, Suzuki and Mazda, and has achieved joint ventures, cooperation, and independent development. The harmonious development. In joint ventures and cooperation, Changan actively studied their development ideas and development experience, stood on the shoulders of giants, and realized the goal of developing in cooperation, maintaining self-interest in cooperation, and continuously improving in cooperation. The practice of Chang'an shows that independent development and joint venture cooperation are not contradictory. On the contrary, walking on two legs is more stable.
Chang'an's foreign cooperation has two characteristics. First, it insists on independent development and establishes its own brand. Second, we will continue to develop close cooperation with existing partners Ford, Suzuki and Mazda, and continue to expand the market, expand the scope of cooperation, and adhere to the two legs of independent development and joint venture cooperation. As Chairman Yin said, "Our own brands and the Ford, Suzuki and Mazda brands have the three relationships of study, coexistence and parallelism. Without an open mind and vision, there will be no Changan independent brands."
Q: After you took over as CEO of Changan Automobile, what would you do with independent innovation and independent brand strategy?
A: As an automaker in China, China has an unshirkable responsibility for independent innovation and self-owned brands. Chang’an Automobile has established a series of strategies for independent brands under the leadership of Chairman Yin. After I took over, these strategies will continue to be implemented in detail.
This year is a year of Changan Automobile’s independent innovation. Chang’an will launch a new series of CV6, CV7, CV9, CV11 and other models with independent intellectual property rights this year. I have confidence in Changan's R&D staff, are confident in Changan's products, and are more confident in the market prospects of these models. Chang'an Automobile will, as always, hold high the banner of independent innovation of China's autos, and will unswervingly increase the intensity of independent innovation, so that by 2010, the production and sales volume of Changan’s independent intellectual property rights autos will reach more than 50%, and there will be more than 6 model platforms.
