[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On March 23, the “Ultrafast Optical Metrology Test Technology Research Laboratory†passed the acceptance. The establishment of this project provides effective technical support for the research of optical metrology test technology in China.
The “Ultrafast Optical Metrology Test Technology Research Laboratory Construction†is undertaken by the Zhejiang Provincial Metrology Institute and is a scientific and technological plan project in Zhejiang Province.
Optical metrology tests mainly refer to optical metrology test problems that cannot be solved using conventional optical metrology standards and measurement devices. For example, the high-energy laser energy in the order of several tens of thousands joules, the pulse width in the femtosecond-order pulse characteristics, the scale and the surface smoothness in nanometer materials and devices, and the large-scale astronomical telescope with a diameter of several meters are involved in the measurement test problem.
Optical metrology is one of the ten major disciplines in metrology, and it is based on optical physical measurement technology and quantitative transmission. Its main task is to continuously improve the optical measurement unit system, reproduce physical units, study new measurement standard instruments and standard devices, establish a value transfer system and transfer methods, develop new test technologies, and study new optical metrology theories. With the advancement of science and technology, optical metrology test technology has developed rapidly and has become an important supporting technology in the optical industry.
The project was improved through instrument procurement and existing experimental platforms, and a femtosecond laser-based metrology technology research platform and an ultra-fast optical parameter measurement and test platform were constructed, forming research and measurement testing capabilities in the field of ultrafast optics. At the same time, the platform is open to the society through the sharing of instruments. It provides effective technical support for technical research in the field of optical metrology and ultra-fast laser metrology services for industrial use as well as laser processing and medical diagnostics in our province.
