In the total automobile production cost, parts and components account for 70% to 80%. Therefore, only the development of the parts and components industry will result in the reduction of the cost of the entire vehicle and the development of the automobile industry. Industry sources pointed out that at present, China's auto parts industry has great potential for development. However, due to factors such as unreasonable structural constraints, this potential has not been fully realized.
Production and export machine unlimited
According to statistics, in 2005, China’s total automobile output exceeded 5.5 million, and sales of auto parts manufacturing industry exceeded 500 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.67%. The export value of auto parts reached 15.235 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 75.11% year-on-year. Industry insiders predict that before 2007, the purchase price of spare parts for the world’s auto giants in low-cost countries will reach US$50 billion, of which 70% will come from China. China's auto parts production and exports are facing enormous business opportunities.
China's auto parts production is accelerating the process of localization. BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. has started the localization of parts and components and has formulated a complete localization plan. At present, the localized components include exhaust systems, axle assemblies, wheel assemblies, seat assemblies, and sunroof assemblies. The export of auto parts has also started from a single product type to a capital-based one. It has been transformed from a labor-intensive and material-intensive low-end product export to a high-value-added electromechanical product export, mainly exported to developing countries. Began to change its exports to developed countries.
The high technical content of automotive parts is the foundation and support for the automotive industry. Auto parts manufacturing companies have become a global trend from the vehicle companies and forming specialized parts and components. At present, there are more than 8,000 auto parts manufacturers in China. Most of the world's leading auto and parts companies have established joint ventures or wholly-owned enterprises in China, and more than 1,000 companies have introduced technology joint ventures. A group of domestic automobile and component enterprises with high technological content, good efficiency and large scale have gradually grown up. With the international auto industry starting to implement the "global procurement" component strategy and international multinational auto companies to implement the localization strategy, the domestic market will be a huge gap in parts and components. It is estimated that by 2010, the domestic auto parts production value in China will reach 700 billion yuan.
Small-scale technological backwardness is resistance
Despite great potential, industry insiders pointed out that China's auto parts industry still has many problems, among which the small scale, backward technology, and lack of independent research and development and innovation are the top issues.
At present, China's spare parts enterprises are small in scale and have low industrial concentration. Among the existing parts and components companies, more than 80% have sales of less than 100 million yuan, 130 have annual turnover of more than 100 million yuan, and 2700 have less than 500,000 yuan. High production costs and low overall industry benefits.
The level of technology is relatively backward. Among the top five auto parts products in China, the first category is the front suspension and rear axle products of the sedan; the second category is the universal joints, transmission shafts and bearings of the automobile; and the third category is the manual transmission of the sedan; The fourth category is the micro-car engine; the fifth category is the car dashboard and steering wheel. The technical content of these products is the level of the 1980s and does not contain electronic control technology at all.
Insufficient investment. According to general statistics of foreign companies, the investment in the parts and components industry should be 1.2 to 1.5 times that of the entire vehicle, while in China it is only 0.3 times or less, and the gap is obvious.
In addition, the poor ability of independent research and development is also an obvious flaw in this industry. According to statistics, China's spare parts enterprises' development investment accounted for 1.99% of sales. Due to the lower total number of sales, the absolute amount of development investment is very small. Foreign companies, in addition to having strong software and hardware facilities and equipment for development, carry out product development every year with annual sales of 3% to 5% (individuals can reach 10%).
Should comply with global purchasing trends
In the face of purchasing an increasingly global auto parts market, industry insiders believe that China should introduce relevant policies, adjust the industrial structure, promote the construction of an international standard system, and strengthen brand services in order to comply with the international trend of global auto parts procurement.
First, the state should issue relevant policies to support the development of auto parts and components. The state should give strong support in the formulation of industrial policies, research and development of key technologies, and macro-control management, mobilize all positive factors, and cultivate and establish a batch of key enterprises with international competitiveness. At the same time, the use of legal means to standardize, manage and restrict the auto parts market, so that the auto parts industry continues to develop quickly and healthily.
Second, adjust the industrial structure of parts and components to meet the needs of international development. Through asset allocation, mergers, equity participation and holding, etc., we have broken geographical and sectoral restrictions, combined related supporting and affiliated companies, accelerated the strategic restructuring of the industry, cultivated a group of outstanding primary businesses, had strong core competitiveness, had independent intellectual property rights, and had relatively Strongly internationally competitive large-scale enterprise groups gradually form parts and components industrial structure according to specialization and division of labor.
Third, advance the development of enterprise informatization and various international standards systems. Transforming traditional enterprises with information technology, intensifying various certifications such as the international quality standards system and the international environmental protection standards system, promoting systematization, modularization, electronic and generalization of product production, and improving the overall quality management capabilities of auto parts companies. And development capabilities.
Fourth, improve marketing services and strengthen brand cultivation. We must strengthen marketing methods and actively develop e-commerce. It is necessary to strengthen self-brand cultivation, foster brand-name products with a certain reputation, and use the brand advantage to develop international and domestic markets.
Fifth, comply with the international trend of global procurement. It is necessary to change the production methods of long-term adherence to the supporting vehicle manufacturers, increase the awareness of market competition, operate independently, self-development, expand into external markets, and take the path of enterprise-neutralization. Strengthen the strategic cooperation with well-known multinational companies, center on the products of international multinational companies, and continuously improve the system development and module supply capabilities. Establish an open market system and strive to enter the global parts and accessories market as soon as possible.
