Report by the reporter Jiang Fan: Statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that in 2007 China's own-brand car sales continued to maintain a steady growth.
In 2007, a total of 1,242,200 self-owned brand cars were sold, which accounted for 26% of the total sales of cars. Compared with 2006, the sales volume of self-owned brand cars has increased by 249,400 units, and the market share has increased by 0.23 percentage points. Among them, the top ten independent brands are: Xiali, QQ, Fumeilai, Qiyun, F3, Junjie, Freedom Ship, A520, Benben and Geely King Kong. In 2007, the above-mentioned ten brands sold a total of 889,100 vehicles, accounting for 72% of the total sales of self-owned brand cars. Among them, Chery and Geely were ranked fourth and eighth in sales of national car companies respectively. Xiali, Chery QQ and Fumei were among the top ten largest car brands in terms of sales. In the sports utility vehicle market, the Great Wall Haval and Chery Ruihu rank the first two.
In 2007, the production and sales of commercial vehicles in China were 2.5013 million and 2.494 million, respectively, an increase of 22.21% and 22.25% over the same period of last year. In the commercial vehicle market, independent brands are in a dominant position. In the past three years, the share of self-owned commercial vehicles in the domestic market has remained at over 95%. In 2007, independent brands continued to lead the commercial vehicle market. From January to December, the top ten commercial vehicle sales companies ranked in order: Beiqi Foton, Dongfeng, FAW, Jianghuai, Jinbei, Zhongqi, Changan, Jiangling, Nanqi, and Shaanxi Auto. Compared with 2006, the above-mentioned ten companies all showed different degrees of growth. From January to December of 2007, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 167.69 million commercial vehicles, accounting for 67% of the total commercial vehicle sales.
