China's first self-developed gasoline direct injection engine JB8 officially started operation at the Changchun FAW Group Technology Center, marking the realization of China's car gasoline engine technology and international advanced level.
The JB8 gasoline direct injection engine is the phased result of the national “863†project “Car Direct Injection Gasoline Engine Development†undertaken by FAW Group during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period. Li Jun, director of the FAW Group Technology Center, said: "This engine integrates the advanced technologies of today's international gasoline engines, such as gasoline direct injection, four-valve, all-aluminum lightweight design, especially the use of independent gasoline direct injection and The common combustion system of airway injection and the self-contained electronically controlled gasoline direct injection system have laid the foundation for the development of gasoline direct injection machines of different gasoline engine platforms of FAW Group in the future."
It is understood that based on the successful development of JB8 series engines, FAW Group is developing high-end car engines, including in-line and V-series engines, with displacements ranging from 1.8 to 6 liters to meet the needs of various mid- to high-class cars.
