China's first biomass direct-fired power plant officially put into operation

The Guoneng Single County Biomass Power Generation Project invested by the State Grid Corporation of China is put into operation, which is the first state-level biomass direct-fired power generation demonstration project in China. By 2010, the State Grid Corporation plans to build about 2 million kilowatts of biomass power generation capacity, accounting for about 36% of China's biomass power generation capacity. The fuel required for this power plant is mainly composed of broken cotton straw, which can be mixed with forestry waste such as branches, mulberry bars and fruit branches.
