Experienced CNC lathes, machining center operators must have met: the use of anti-rust cutting fluid in daily production, it is reasonable to say that its anti-rust effect is very good, the anti-rust cycle between the processed products can also achieve the expected The effect is that the production machine equipment CNC lathe, the work center table and the guide rail often appear rust.
Since the anti-rust performance of the cutting fluid is very good, why is the production equipment rusted? Is there any relationship with the cutting fluid during the period? What kind of relationship?
The anti-rust performance of the processed workpiece can be basically eliminated from the viewpoint of poor anti-rust performance of the cutting fluid, and it can also be ruled out that the guide rail is directly caused by the cutting fluid.
This is due to the rail oil applied to the door of the rail. The rail oil is usually composed of a base oil mineral oil and a part of sulfur and phosphorus anti-wear agents. The cutting fluid contacts the rail oil during the circulation to produce a partial oil-water mixture, that is, sludge.
The oil is lighter than water, and the oil absorbs most of the alkali and rust-preventing components in the cutting fluid, and the action of water makes the rails very susceptible to oxidative corrosion.
This is not the main reason for the corrosion of the guide rail. The main reason is that the anti-wear agents such as sulfur and phosphorus in the guide oil are hydrolyzed under the action of the main component of the cutting fluid. The components such as sulfur and phosphorus are severely corrosive to the steel parts. It is the main reason for the corrosion of the guide rail.
The method for solving the corrosion of the guide rail is either to replace the aqueous cutting fluid with oily cutting oil, emulsified oil or to replace the cutting fluid which is not particularly good in cleaning effect or to select the lubricating oil as the anti-wear material.
