Agricultural Machinery Subsidy Included in China's National Important Agricultural Policy

In the "2011 National Policies and Measures to Support the Increase of Farmers' Income through Increasing Production," the Ministry of Agriculture recently announced that the subsidy policy for agricultural machinery purchases ranks the fifth of all 30 policy measures. In 2011, the subsidies for agricultural machinery purchases included the following: subsidies for the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment increased to 17.5 billion yuan, an increase of 2 billion yuan over the previous year, and the scope of subsidies continued to cover all agricultural counties (fields) in the country. The types of subsidy equipment cover 12 categories, 46 subcategories and 180 items. On this basis, 30 items can be added on their own.

The central financial farm machinery purchase subsidy funds are subject to fixed-rate subsidies, and the same type and same-level agricultural machinery implement unified subsidy standards within the province. The fixed subsidy is calculated to be no more than 30% of the average price of the provincial markets. The proportion of subsidy in the severely affected areas and counties and key blood prevention and control epidemic areas in the Wenchuan earthquake can be increased to 50%. Single machine subsidies up to 50,000 yuan, large tractors above 100 hp, high-performance green fodder harvesters, large-scale no-tillage seeders, milking machines, large-scale combine harvesters, rice large-scale soaking and germination program-controlled equipment, and drying machine single-subsidy allowance can be increased to 120,000 yuan; large cotton pickers, sugarcane harvesters, and 200 horsepower or more tractor subsidy can be increased to 200,000 yuan.
