5.4% of Japanese companies are using IoT technology

IDC Japan surveyed Japan's IoT market, as well as business user trends.

The survey found that 5.4% of Japanese companies (more than 100) are using IoT technology, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous year.

Manufacturing Internet of Things highest penetration rate. IDC Japan divided IoT applicants into four categories, with the highest manufacturing penetration rate reaching 8.5%; followed by the public and infrastructure sectors (4.0%); financial business Internet of Things penetration rate at 3.5%; sales and service Industry Internet of Things lowest penetration rate, only 3.2%.

Among them, M2M Internet of Things applications accounted for more than 80%.

From the perspective of the enterprises applying IoT technology, the proportion of business units (46%) is higher than that of IT departments (32%).
