The benzene product in the aromatic smelting tank area was successfully introduced into the new 120,000 tonne/year dry gas ethylbenzene plant reaction system. After system commissioning, the temperatures, pressures, and other data in each operating stage showed a steady and normal level, indicating that the long-term refining process was 120,000 tons/year. The ethylene ethylbenzene plant has entered the drive phase.
The 128,000-ton/year dry gas production of ethylbenzene plant was undertaken by the 10th construction company of Sinopec, and the construction started at the end of September 2010.
Dry gas is a by-product of the catalytic cracking unit, which contains about 10% to 20% of ethylene. The production capacity of the ethylbenzene plant for dry gas makes effective use of this part of the ethylene resource, reduces chemical production costs in Yueyang, and increases styrene raw materials and industrial fuels. Gas, effective digestion and enrichment of surplus dry gas of two sets of catalytic devices will not only increase the comprehensive utilization of production resources, but also significantly reduce tail gas emissions from long-term production systems, and have good economic and social benefits.
According to the person in charge of the project, the catalytic dry gas will directly enter the 120,000 tons/year dry gas ethylbenzene plant from the 2.8 million tons/year catalytic dry gas desulfurization unit on May 10. It is expected that qualified ethylbenzene products can be produced within three days. A week or so, the whole system will be operating normally.
