Our reporter Yang Fenglei Zhou Yuanzheng Beijing Chongqing Recently, CITIC Group signed an agreement with Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government for an electric vehicle base project to settle in Inner Mongolia Shengle Economic Park. According to industry insiders, this indicates that China’s new type of electric vehicles have started industrialized production and commercialization.
The reporter recently received information from the Merchants Department of Shengle Economic Park. Although the agreement was signed, CITIC has not yet been stationed. It seems that the commercialization of electric vehicles in China is far more complicated than it seems.
Enterprise: Waiting for the start
Zhou Heliang, executive member of the Asia-Pacific Electric Vehicle Association and Honorary Chairman of the China Electrotechnical Society, said when it comes to electric vehicles, it is difficult to hide their joy. “At present, China’s electric vehicles are in the areas of vehicle system design, battery motor drive systems, and energy management systems. The level is second only to Japan in Asia, and some technologies have reached the international advanced level."
It is understood that currently there are three types of electric vehicles: pure electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles and hybrid vehicles. Hybrid vehicles have entered the stage of large-scale commercialization abroad. China's electric vehicles are mainly pure electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles, and are still in the experimental stage.
BYD Auto began research and development of electric vehicles since it entered the automotive industry in 2003. Recently, an electric vehicle charging station was built at the BYD Research and Development Center (Shanghai), which is said to be completed in an hour and a half. BYD Spokesman Wang Jianyu told reporters that their car charger can travel 350 to 400 kilometers on a single electricity and the speed can reach 180 kilometers per hour.
Shi Tao, head of public relations at Shanghai Shenli Technology Co., Ltd., said: “At present, all domestic fuel-cell vehicles that go on the road are provided by us.†According to him, the fuel cell converts the chemical energy of hydrogen directly into electricity, which is powered by electricity. Drive the engine to generate kinetic energy.
“Commercialization of electric vehicles is already a very real issue,†said Wu Zhixin, general manager of Tianjin Qingyuan Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd., which is obviously a bit impatient. “Technology is close to the needs of commercial promotion, the functions that normal gasoline vehicles can have, and the basics of electric vehicles. Can be achieved."
Market: No runway
Lu Lei, chief engineer of the Automotive Standardization Institute of China Automotive Technology Center, told reporters that at present, the country has introduced more than a dozen standards for electric vehicles, mainly components and control system requirements, vehicle standards have already been done. As long as the company meets the standards, it can apply for catalog production.
Technology has reached commercialization requirements and standards have been formulated. The commercialization of electric vehicles seems to be on the verge. However, the fact is not so simple. BYD Automobile spokesman Wang Jianyu said: "Technical standards are easy to formulate, and there are still more ways to commercialize."
Although electric vehicles have the advantages of zero emissions, optimized energy structure, and convenient driving operations, their cost is too high. According to reports, only the battery price will account for one-third of the vehicle's own price. As far as fuel cells are concerned, when they reach a certain level (for example, 1000 vehicles) at the current state of the art, they are three to four times more expensive than ordinary cars, and lithium-ion battery cars are at least two times more expensive. Who can get a price several times higher than that of a petrol car to buy an electric car?
Industry analysts believe that, in addition to price factors, to promote the consumption of electric vehicles, but also need an infrastructure support environment; such as charging station network, vehicle maintenance service network, a variety of forms of battery marketing, service networks. And these are not yet available.
Government: No firing gun
At present, enterprises hope that the government will start the consumption of electric vehicles. Shi Tao believes that the commercialization of electric vehicles should include: demonstration propaganda - government-led bulk demand - mass production - the country gradually fade out of four stages.
At present, China’s support for electric vehicles is only at the research and development level. It is understood that during the “10th Five-Year Plan†period, China’s investment in electric vehicles totaled 2.4 billion yuan, which is expected to increase to 5 billion yuan during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period. “We are constantly appealing to the government, but the effect is not obvious. At present, there is no policy.†Business people value the follow-up support.
However, the official opinion is that the amount of money currently invested in electric vehicles is already enough. To build infrastructure, we must also take it slow. However, according to Zhou Heliang, the government will provide certain incentives for the production and sale of energy-saving vehicles, and relevant policies will be gradually introduced.
Companies have realized that the establishment of an electric vehicle use environment needs a long process. It is reported that Changan Group has now adopted hybrid vehicles as the main promotion target. Propaganda Department Zhou Qin stated: “We are conducting research on pure electric vehicles, but we must take into account market factors, so we are not prepared to market pure electric vehicles. â€
It is understood that Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. is currently mainly engaged in some small cars, such as sightseeing coaches, golf carts, etc. Because the initial cost of pure electric vehicles is too large, "we think that the current use of light and small special vehicles is a comparison. Realistic, "said Zhu Xi, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Motor Corporation.
